Trump said of Jamal Khashoggi's killing "things happen." He also told a Bloomberg journalist to be "Quiet, Piggy." He called for the execution of six Democratic lawmakers. A particularly heinous week. My Nation column on all of this, and more: www.thenation.com/article/worl...
In Defending Mohammed bin Salman, Trump Sinks to a New Low
Trump was incandescent with anger that journalists would have the temerity to question his wealthy “guest” with the bottomless wallet.

This is not only deranged, it is an incitement to murder. Disobeying illegal orders was declared to be a moral and legal imperative at the Nuremberg trials. Now Trump is saying people who urge military not follow illegal orders should be executed. This is pure fascism. www.cnn.com/2025/11/20/p...

This crude reimagining of the role that government workers play in American life is devastating for those who rely on federal services, and it is catastrophic for those who built their careers providing these services, writes @sashaabramsky.bsky.social.

The Deliberate Decimation of the Federal Workforce
Systems built up over the last 120 years are being either eliminated or corroded at warp speed, with the implicit blessing of the US Supreme Court.

Trump and the GOP seek to end affordable healthcare and food assistance for tens of millions of Americans. The public doesn't support it and also opposes most other MAGA priorities. My Nation column on Trump's growing unpopularity. www.thenation.com/article/poli...

A day afterTesla board unveils a ten year stock option package for Musk, worth up to one TRILLION dollars, or $275 million per day for ten years, Trump admin urges an appeals court to block the order to release SNAP payments to 42 million impoverished Americans. This is what oligarchy looks like.

Alternating between reading about summary executions -- aka war crimes -- US is carrying out on daily basis on High Seas, based on nebulous secret evidence; demolition of WH; and Trump's tamper tantrum (employing the syntax skills of a five-year-old) against Canada. The age of Fascist Idiocracy.

Thought experiment: Ponder how GOP would have reacted had Obama or Biden decided to demolish half of White House to build a soup kitchen or pre-school for poor kids in its place? Now ponder GOP silence as WH is destroyed to make way for a $300 million vanity project ballroom for DJ's oligarch pals.

When I lived in a historic house in Sacramento, we couldn't even replace windows without planning permission. In most cities, you can't add a floor to your house, or a granny flat in backyard without permitting process. So, how can DJ wake up one morning and simply decide to demolish half the W.H.?
