If I had a nickel for each series that I've been following during the Winter 2026 season that also has writeups go up at 5:30 PM PST on their respective days that me react as "Jesus fucking Christ" to their fifth episode, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice, right? But seriously, I don't know if this is a sign that I picked good shows or what, but I'm absolutely not disappointed by it at all.

It felt so weird to watch this week's Meitantei Precure episode without having watched an episode of another series that also features detectives prior to it. And unless some thing that's alleged turn out to be wrong, that's actually going to be the case for the entirety of February, so...whoops? At least I have one meitantei series to keep me company on Saturdays somewhat consistently.

Surprise, I've since switched to using the Xfinity Flex app to watch Wash It All Away instead of the Nintendo Switch app! Honestly, the experience on the Flex app is so much smoother. Another Sunday, another episode of Kaya-chan Isn't Scary! Yippee!! 😀 Time for me to talk about this week's episode of Kaya-chan Isn't Scary! Yay! Depending on how some experimenting that I do later this week goes, this may be the final episode of Wash It All Away that I watch on the Nintendo Switch Crunchyroll app. Due to how long the loading time on there has gotten, I fear that as time marches on, I may need to spend more time waiting for the app to load than I may end up feeling comfortable with due to how seemingly out of date the app is apart from the updating library.

I love Sundays, because it means I get to watch a new episode of Kaya-chan Isn't Scary! This series has been a fun one to follow so far, and I'm going to state right here and now that I will be continuing to watch Kaya-chan Isn't Scary during the Winter 2026 anime season. It's a nice way for me to chill during my week.

Okay. There's a lot I want to talk about in regards to this episode. Because holy freaking shit?! This episode. This episode man. I don't even know if I'll even be able to let my thoughts out in a coherent way. That's how much this episode shaked me up. Yeah, I know I should be using "shook" instead of "shaked".

Just like with last week's episode, this week's episode had a sort of multi-story vignette style. Unlike episode 1, however, each vignette has its own title instead of all being under the same title. As a result, this review will focus on each vignette separately. Here we go. Invisible Things Aren't Scary Kaya and her class consistently walk past the same building during their school day, with one of her classmates noticing what she thinks to be a ghost in the window.

This is the rare instance where the romanized form of the name is close enough to the English name to the point where I don't think I need to tag it. Could I choose to tag it? Yes. Will I? No. So consider my writeups of Dead Account a nice break from having to see multiple names in the tags and wondering whether I mistagged or if that's just the romanized form of the Japanese name.
