Maybe you saw this note on the last story in my series about fossil fuel ties to Louisiana higher ed? I'm excited to start today in this new role, which will allow me to continue writing about how corporations influence research and outreach at universities to delay the phase out of fossil fuels

Maybe you saw this note on the last story in my series about how oil and gas corporations influence research and outreach at Louisiana universities? I'm excited to take up this new role to continue writing about how corporations use universities to delay the phase out of fossil fuels.

Highly recommend going on a bike ride today and every day. One of my favorite routes in Louisiana is the 153-mile trek around Lake Pontchartrain. There are great views of coastal marsh and shorebirds. Two years ago I raced around the lake with a couple of hundred other cyclists

I had the opportunity to speak at the Society of Professional Journalists joint regional conference this weekend about how to cover an environmental disaster. I used my work on the Marathon refinery fire as an example of how to continue to dig into the impacts after other media has moved on.

I flew over the Marathon refinery where a fire erupted last month in St. John the Baptist Parish. Why does it look like three tanks burned, not two?

Thanks to SouthWings for the lift!
