Grady Hendrix is one of my favorite horror authors because he can use horror to dig into topics like this. Hendrix mixes magical realism, the occult, and the power of women to create an atmospheric and topical horror story. #booksky #gradyhendrix #witchcraftforwaywardgirls #bookreview #books #book

Really enjoying watching one subpar male after another literally failing their asses off during this Women’s History Month. Like truly chef’s kiss.

This is not a dry history of authors you have never heard of. This dynamic, charismatic, and fascinating narrative will send you on a quest to read these inspiring authors. Romney gives us insight into the women and the books they wrote, as well as her descriptions of the rare book market #booksky

You have to love the fact that Canada has literally told our country to fuck all the way off. I am here for all of their delightful pettiness. The orange dipshit has literally pissed off the nicest people on the planet.

This bleak look at what is left of humanity also offers a look at the importance of love. Add in the fact that this story is based around a cult, which made it a book I knew I would sink into. Bazterrica explores feminism, power, and morality in only the way she can. #booksky #scribner #theunworthy

You know what? I was mad at Trump voters, but now I am relishing laughing hysterically at them. I find that really screws with them.

We all know Bill Gates as the man behind Microsoft, a technology leader who uses his billions of dollars and influence to address needs worldwide. But how did he get there, where did he get his foundation, and who helped him along the way? #booksky #billgates #sourcecode #microsoft #memoir

My five things for this week:
1. Watched our president side with a Russian dictator.
2. Called my representatives and castigated their inaction.
3. Spent my two days off fighting for the federal workforce.
4. Sobbed.
5. Repeatedly said it’s the Gulf of Mexico.

As the wife of an NWS Met, I am heartbroken by what is being done. I get up each day and call as many reps as possible.

These men and women go to work each day to protect life and property. They don’t care about political affiliation, net worth, or where you are from. They just want to protect us.

For those who remember the classic ice skating rivalries, this modern twist on star-crossed lovers is a page turner, filled with scandalous tidbits, and is extremely entertaining. I loved all the backstabbing, sniping, and love triangles.

This is not your typical horror novel. This one creeps up on you. Filled with secrets, magical realism, and gothic terror, this novel captures the monstrous side of humanity and will leave you reeling towards the end of this story. This one will haunt me for quite some time.

In 2023, Renner was crushed by a 14000-pound snow plow, nearly dying at his home. From emergency services getting there in the nick of time to his long ordeal as doctors & nurses battled to save his life and help him recover, Renner takes us through surviving that trauma. #booksky #jeremyrenner

The problem with this country is we stopped looking for people like Atticus Finch and started admiring Bob Ewell.

You've got some of the best tropes: single dad, forced proximity, grumpy/sunshine, and found family. I enjoyed Iris and Archer's love story. The characters we love from the previous books all make guest appearances, but I liked that the main characters of this book were new to the reader. #booksky

What I like about horror, is that it asks the reader where the fear is coming from. And in this novel, the horror comes not only from the paranormal, but from the COVID virus and the racist attacks on the Asian community that happened because of the virus. #booksky #horror #books #horrorbooks

This ticked all the boxes: romantic setting, friends to lovers, and a love triangle, all wrapped in a coming-of-age story. I also loved the psychic aspect, which gave this book a magical feel. Teller was a cinnamon roll of a character, and I loved his interactions with Lo.

The Gift of Animals is a beautiful book of poetry celebrating our love of animals, both great and small. The gifted poets who contributed to this collection take us through the different emotions that animals inspire in us: praise, companionship, fear, and lament, to name a few.

My son is a disabled Navy veteran who receives care from the VA. Tell me again how the Republicans are pro-military.
"the Department of Veterans Affairs announced the dismissal of more than 1,000 employees who had served for less than two years. That included researchers working on cancer treatment, opioid addiction, prosthetics and burn pit exposure, U.S. Sen. Patty Murray, a Democrat, said Thursday."

This is the perfect book for fans of thrillers and F. Scott Fitzgerald. Although set in modern times, the atmosphere evokes the time of Gatsby. Sash Bischoff creates a lush, dark, and twisty tale with plenty of nods to FSF while retaining dark psychological suspense. #booksky #simonbooks #sweetfury

As we watch the government isolate and discriminate against the queer community, this was the book I needed to encourage me to continue fighting as an ally. Readers will recognize the same battles that are being fought against close-minded, bigoted people every day. #booksky #lgbtqia #tjklune
