Yeah, Gretzky has been all in on Trumpism, so his legacy has now featured literally having shit smeared on the statue of him in Edmonton, and some choice jokes about his wine labels.

In addition, CAUT recommends that academics who fall into the following categories exercise particular caution: Citizens or residents of a country identified in media reports as likely to be subject to a travel ban Citizens or residents of a country where there are diplomatic tensions with the U.S. Travellers with passport stamps evidencing recent travel to countries that may be subject to a travel ban or where there are diplomatic tensions with the U.S. Those who have expressed negative opinions about the current U.S. administration or its policies Those whose research could be seen as being at odds with the position of the current U.S. administration Travellers who identify as transgender or whose travel documents indicate a sex other than their sex assigned at birth Academics should carefully consider what information they have, or need to have, on their electronic devices when crossing borders and take actions to protect sensitive information where necessary.

Found on the "Shit Americans Say" reddit, this is possibly the weirdest language ideological claim I've ever seen
"This seems to only occur in American English since most, if not all, other countries that speak English have an accent. Australians, South Africans, Brits and Kiwis all have accents that seem to erase the 'er'. Only Americanized English seems to retain that hard 'er' sound. It is especially interesting because the US is easily the most diverse country on the planet. This means we actually borrow words from all different languages. What I mean to say is that, even through the diversity in our language, we still retain our one unique quirk. It makes you wonder how, over time, we really developed our language and diction. The original colonists were European, so they definitely didn't speak like the way we do today, so how did we lose the accent in some regions, and develop new ones in others. So fascinating" (thinking face emoji 3 times)

The framing Poilievre uses here is striking. He’s “not aware” of more than two genders creates a sense of folksy ignorance - when of course he’s aware, since the only reason to comment on this topic is awareness of gender diversity beyond the binary.
