I always recommend this one for new bakers because everything (except for one frosting recipe?) can be made without a stand mixer. Plus, all the cakes work in an 8x8 pan. She also gives lots of ideas for variations on the recipes.

It’s Kona cotton in the color Oyster, and I got it from Vogue Fabrics, if anyone else is looking for a large amount of not-quite-white plainwoven cotton.

I made a pair of socks with SweetGeorgia BFL Silk Fine that have worn really well. It has a pretty good color range (50+ colors). But it also has vey little stretch, so it can be hard on the hands if you go too small with your needle size (I used 1.5mm. Don’t be me)

Oh yes, I have definitely taken advantage of my libraries libby subscriptions! But I do love how luxurious it can feel to sit down with a paper copy. And if I can get my job to pay for it too… 😁

Yes! One of the reasons I still subscribe to Threads is that they sometimes have really useful adds for fabric and notion suppliers that I wouldn’t have found otherwise.

I know a lot of people love it, but honestly, it is nails on a chalkboard level irritating to me. I apparently still have not recovered from hearing the same 50 minute CD of holiday songs on a loop for 8 weeks while working retail in my 20s.

This place is only for people who agonized over the perfect song lyrics to use as their AIM away message.

That exhibit was so good! I saw it when it stopped in Minneapolis and still think about it regularly.

So my choices are:

-Assume no extension will pass and pick based on that (taking the worst possible plan because of cost)
-Wait in hope that at least a little help will come and risk having the healthcare website be overwhelmed right at the deadline.
