Woman, Lesbian, Queer and over here. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️A walking combination of feminist Rage and Menopausal Anxiety.
My #QueerWomanoftheDay is remembered as one of the giants of feminism. Her groundbreaking book The Second Sex remains in print. Simone de Beauvoir’s legacy is that of a French existentialist philosopher, writer, social theorist. But not her bisexuality and that she was a sexual abuser.

Imagine it’s your wedding night, but instead of climbing into bed with you, your new bride climbs on top of the wardrobe brandishing an umbrella and declares “if you touch me, I will kill you.” #QueerWomanoftheDay is Winnaretta Singer, a lesbian philanthropist.

Today I introduced James O’Brien to the wonderful Lady Valerie Meux. If you want to hear me shoehorn a bit of Women’s history into a conversation about museums you can listen again from 11:50 (this is a photo, you would need to go to global player to listen) @mrjamesob.bsky.social

My Queer #Woman of the day is the magnificent Selma Lagerlöf. She was the first woman to win the Nobel Prize in Literature, which she was awarded in 1909. Additionally, she was the first woman to be granted a membership in the Swedish Academy in 1914. www.threads.net/@saphy76/pos...

Hi, my name is Saphy and I am a middle aged, menopausal, queer Lesbian. I am also passionate about Queer Women’s history. So passionate that I have a collection of nearly 800 notable Queer Women from history. I share a Queer Woman of the Day over on Threads. But may occasionally share here as well.
