I like Pete Alonso. Any team should be happy to have him. He goes about it differently, but his production rivals Kyle Schwarber and he can play a position in the field without embarrassing himself. If a team can go 5/$150M for Schwarbs then Alonso should be thought similarly.

I'm waiting for the contract that is like: $10M in 2026, $100M in 2027, $10M 2028 - 2030. An ownership group just praying for the lockout to hold out.

I hadn't realized Cedric Mullins had the 11th most innings in CF last year. He was above replacement against lefties last year, but typically more of the opposite-handed Manuel Margot where you get a little above average against one hand & typically not enough against other. Left-handedness helps.

Blue Jays seemed to recognize that the biggest differentiator between themselves and the Dodgers was the number of really tough pitchers they could throw out there even deep in the night. Ponce seems like another really good arm they can use in some different ways.

I bet Pete Hegseth couldn't funnel three beers and then hold his breath for six minutes like a Navy Seal could. Could always use a plastic bag if he's afraid he can't hold it that long on his own.
