@msf.ca data shows diseases directly linked to these poor living conditions-- these account for 70% of outpatient consultations in our clinics.

The only responsible course of action? It's not complicated.

⚡We need an immediate, massive scale-up of humanitarian aid & access. We need it NOW.

Imagine if all of us in #Toronto were crammed into an area 6x smaller than the city with no protection, sanitation or hospitals. Or if the entire pop of #Chicago were squeezed into 1/3rd the area of #Manhattan. Or if all ppl in #Brussels were jammed into a few neighborhoods, exposed to the elements.

This is nowhere near enough, but it's a start. Reclaiming even fragments of humanity in a place where it’s been stripped away is what keeps us going.

📣 Because access to water, to care, to dignity--these should never depend on politics, nor on who the world decides is human enough to deserve them.

➡️ Reopened our wound care clinic, which has received hundreds of patients, most with trauma-related injuries that went untreated for weeks.
➡️ Restarted water trucking, delivering safe drinking water daily.
➡️ Continuing remote support for local hospitals, through incentives, supplies, + fuel.

(3/4) Abed innovated with remarkable ingenuity--he worked with tailors & logisticians to create custom compression suits for burn patients. He modified walkers for patients injured & amputated in the madness of this genocide. He was the vision behind our 3D physiotherapy dept #Gaza.

(2/4) In the man-made dystopian reality of #Gaza, our colleagues find creative ways to still provide treatment, despite #Israeli blockades, lack of fuel, electricity, water, and essentially all the building blocks you need to make a health system work.

Clearly identifiable aid workers are being killed. Clearly identifiable red lines are being crossed. An entire population is clearly, systematically being dehumanized, erased, starved & besieged.

❗It's time for clearly identifiable, undisputable, concrete, bold, action from world leaders. ❗

He was at a bus stop, in an MSF vest, waiting to head to our field hospital in #Gaza. 4 MSF colleagues were injured in the attack, all clearly identifiable as medical humanitarian workers. One of our staff is in critical condition with shrapnel wounds.

❗ Investigating attacks on humanitarians
❗ Using all avenues to hold perpetrators accountable
❗ Publicly denouncing IHL violations
❗ Imposing consequences for violations
❗ Halting arms exports at risk of fueling war crimes
