In the middle of the UK. Cricket, cats, coasts, calm. Most likely to order a flat white and a cheese twist. Thank God we have this government. Just imagine…
The whole encounter felt like a trap laid by the US for Zelenskyy. To reduce Putin’s aggression to ‘he doesn’t much love you either’ is insulting. Trump has chosen his side.

No bone - they need to do/communicate better, quickly. I'm just questioning their motives for dismissing the EU offer.
Our views differ on whether they're overwhelmed and naive, or useless and ill-intentioned. And, whether that makes any difference. We're probably equally disappointed to be here.

I don't buy that. Yes they've scored own goals & communications are dire. Cabinet is definitely overwhelmed by task size, but to me they look unconvincing & uncertain rather than incapable or corrupt. That's why I doubt they'd turn down the chance of a positive EU story unless there was a reason.

Granted it's a huge 'if..'
But he badly needs a win, so what other reason is there for dismissing it out of hand? Not like there's a better plan somewhere...and I've always believed the Brexit election position was just one part of a long game.

Right decision, and tbf a win was unlikely. But you can sense England's desperation to get points, v painful.

EU talks must be happening behind closed doors though, surely? There's nothing to be gained from going public right now, everything gets shredded and subverted by media. If we're truly dismissing theor offer, it's bonkers. If Starmer is playing a long and cautious game, it makes more sense.

Dismissing the EU's offer does appear a bit self-flagellating (especially in the absence of other magic growth plans). Surely it must be happening behind closed doors though, or as part of wider talks. Starmer's hardly going to document negotiations publicly. So what other response could they make?

Same here. We all went (parents + teen) and each loved it for different reasons. Every bit of the music was gorgeous, the casting - yes, Chalamet and Norton but especially Monica Barbero - was impeccable, and the NY village atmosphere crackled. Such a warm movie, there's a lot to love.

Yep. I always wondered what they used the headset was for when there’s no VAR…instructions? 🤔

Every time I visit Twitter I'm repulsed and tempted to delete, to never go back. But cricket, football and an unhealthy fascination with the weird-wingers over there keep me checking in. Am I just addicted and in denial? Probs.

Doesn't Conservative policy depend on what Musk says next?

And football fans. Bluesky has much to do in sport.

It’s like Greg(g) Wallace parroting Monica Galetti. Though less creepy.
