I don't buy that. Yes they've scored own goals & communications are dire. Cabinet is definitely overwhelmed by task size, but to me they look unconvincing & uncertain rather than incapable or corrupt. That's why I doubt they'd turn down the chance of a positive EU story unless there was a reason.

Dismissing the EU's offer does appear a bit self-flagellating (especially in the absence of other magic growth plans). Same here. We all went (parents + teen) and each loved it for different reasons. Every bit of the music was gorgeous, the casting - yes, Chalamet and Norton but especially Monica Barbero - was impeccable, and the NY village atmosphere crackled. Such a warm movie, there's a lot to love.
