I had another little moment, prone on some ledge under the rain, where I noticed the light hitting the other side of this valley and had to stop to take it in. It's not the be all and end all of what games are or should be but it's wild how accustomed we've become to truly astonishing visuals

The combat is decent, just very familiar for this kind of game but the stealth stuff, they've given up on "social stealth" and are now just doing splinter cell-lite, is exquisite for a stealth game starved player like me. Could be my favourite one of these! Jury is still out

How many digital Michelangelo's are inside Ubisoft, combining the graphical wizardry of simulated weather and light to produce frequent moments of wonder for players in a game far too packed with middling side quests for any one human being to experience

I remember when the existence of this game in every respect would've sounded like an outlandish fantasy about the future of games. Now they make multiple of these a year.

And within the constraints of an overstuffed rpg, talented folk put together astonishing things to so little fanfare
