🇬🇧 New op-ed: #Inequality is a health risk. We found that youth #smoking predicted poorer adult health among people whose parents had low education. In short: #publichealth is not only about health behaviours, but about social inequality.

4/4 The findings suggest there could be more openness to seeking mental health help among these groups than presumed and that misperceived norms could impact willingness to seek help.

3/4 People’s own willingness to seek help was influenced by the presumed support from friends and family, followed by the perceived willingness of other migrants, and finally also by perceived Norwegian help-seeking norms. However, acculturation played a role.
