My daughter and I have grown a lot this year. Not even close to your scale in our little suburban yard, but still. It's satisfying.

Not to toot @thecosmicbgr.bsky.social's horn too hard, but we respond faster, and are more reliable than the vast majority of magazines. We have statistics to prove it. We also pay writers $0.10 a word, and pay our artists $100 per piece.

In case anyone's curious about what it's like to run @thecosmicbgr.bsky.social, this is a part of how I afford it. It's GoFundMe, and delivering people Popeyes for $3 a go. I do that as an extra job to pay writers. My car always smells like chicken, and I'm a vegetarian. Never doubt my love.

Does anyone else love grocery store circular day?

I was on this panel at Worldcon, but missed the group photo. Our delightful moderator @shiwritesprose.bsky.social caught me outside for a rectifying-selfie.

My WorldCon schedule, for anyone who wants to know where I'm gonna be (nobody wants to know).

Stefen Holtrey is your favorite writer. You just might not know it yet.

My first question as moderator at this, and every panel I ever moderate from now on, will be:

You've inherited a movie theater, what's your first double feature?

Starship Troopers (1997) and American History X (1998)

Little preview of the commemorative tees to go with our special haunted issue over at the @thecosmicbgr.bsky.social. @aijiang.bsky.social, you know you've made it when someone makes a special commemorative tee.

My wife and I have been married for 10 years today. As you can see, she hasn't aged at all, whereas I look 20 years older. I can therefore only assume I'm aging for both of us, like she's Dorian Gray and I'm the painting in the attic.

How much money would I have to pay someone to play this whenever I go on stage for anything at Worldcon?

10 years in this country and my accent still confuses them.

Happy Father's Day fellow dads, but especially to the person who makes me a dad to begin with.

This is the greatest headline of all time. See you in an AA meeting, racoon. Rehab is nothing to be ashamed of.

Had such a good time at Brilliant Books in Traverse City tonight. Book tours can be super lonely, but evenings like this make them feel so worth it.

The two best books I've read this year so far. A novella by Karen Russell, and a short story collection by @mlensheffer.bsky.social.

Downside to 2025:

Both my parents are about to suddenly die of completely separate diseases.

Positive to 2025: The combination of grief and stress and exhaustion meant I stopped eating and cutting my hair and now I'm somehow *gorgeous*.

You gotta take the good with the bad, guys.
