The last one is somewhat misleading. 1/3 of functionally illiterate people in America are immigrants, and of the remaining 2/3, 35% are white, 34% are Hispanic, 23% black, and 8% other.

I looked it up; according to National Center for Education Statistics, it seems generally true.

Functional literacy technically isn't the same as true literacy; people can read but they are unable to grasp complex information in written form.
