Also, I’m curious, is your opinion based on any academic research? Have you looked into what legal experts have said about this? Have you looked at democracy itself and researched what other countries do?

It’s simple. Vote and vote for the party that is pro democracy.

They are bending and breaking rules and unless we get enough non-voters to care, they will be the winners. And we will become an authoritarian, rouge nation. It is happening and I cannot believe you are sticking with the “both sides bad so vote for no one and I’m morally in the right” thinking.

No, you are wrong. There is one party that is actively anti-democracy. They are granting the executive office more power and gerrymandering the hell out of many states, disenfranchising a huge number of people. Unless we have enough people voting against that, they will win.

Who put you in which side? This doesn’t make sense - if you don’t want to tell anyone how you voted, don’t. But democracy does not work unless citizens vote. Non-voters are a cancer on our democracy and we are dealing with the effects of that now.

Yep. A division of my company opened up in Canada way back when. These were high skilled tech jobs, moved up there because of their universal healthcare. That company no longer exists in the US.

We just want healthcare when we are sick and preventative care when we are well. We don’t want to shop around for it, we just want a system that works and is fair and good. Like the senators get.

If not everyone votes, how can you say you have a democracy. If you don’t require people to vote, politicians can begin picking whose vote counts (gerrymandering) and discouraging people from voting. It worked really well with you and it’s too bad because you are the reason our democracy is broken
December 11, 2025 at 12:58 AM
Because you didn’t vote against him. That’s how democracy works-you pick the least bad option and this past election, the choice was abundantly clear. Simple fact-Australia has one of the best working multicultural democracies on the planet and they have mandatory voting.
December 11, 2025 at 12:55 AM
We needed to vote in numbers too big to manipulate-and to overcome gerrymandering. I agree that what we have is not democracy, but she did not win. And I volunteered for her campaign as almost a full time job. There were more people who did not vote than in 2020. That’s who lost the election.
December 10, 2025 at 6:08 PM
And we will not be able to fix climate change. The world will suffer for generations because of your choice not to vote.
December 10, 2025 at 4:49 PM
Non-voters are just as responsible as Trump voters for the moment we are in. All the chaos, the torture of immigrants, the downfall of the US on the world stage, the rising prices and awful economy-that’s all on you. And it’s going to take lifetimes to fix.
December 10, 2025 at 4:47 PM
For profit healthcare is a scam and Americans are paying the price with their lives and their health. I already pay for my healthcare, and the amount I pay (and the care I get) shocks my Australian relatives. It’s unsustainable and downright gross. And the Amin wants people to have more kids, 😂

Baby is trying to interact with you and you’re staring at your phone. Great idea! Should be fantastic for the mental health of both the kid and the parent!
December 9, 2025 at 4:53 PM
Ew. I’d rather sit next to someone in pajamas-at least then I can be pretty sure they haven’t gotten workout sweaty in them. Sweating purposely in business wear is gross.

GnR has been trying to get Trump to stop using their music since Trump 1.0. Trump is a lawless ahole who cares only for himself.
