TY encouraged me to see the first episode. Disappointed not to hear a mention of Galla Placidia,sister of Honorius, abducted by Alaric & later married to next Goth King Ataulf who then allied with Honorius. Daughter,sister wife & mother of Kings, Emperors and Regent in her own right.Tomb in Ravenna.

Yes I began watching The Serpent Queen on C4 - in transfixed horror through my fingers - as Catherine de Medici shagged a stable hand and her husband slit his throat ! Jean Plaidy it isn’t ! 🤦🏻♀️

Having listened to Waldemar’s take down on he & Bendor’s excellent podcast I had decided, loving history as I do, not to risk watching Civilisation. Then, yesterday, I read a good review in the Guardian and I came round to the idea & changed my mind BUT @durotrigesdig.bsky.social have saved me ! 🙏
