5 billion different solutions to the same 3 types of problems.

I was excited for the possibilities of building stuff until I realized that each one was intended to last 5 minutes max.

And yeah the general story, structure, dungeons, puzzles, progression etc really suffered for it

I had fun with totk but yeah its philosophy is limiting its potential imo. "absolute freedom at all costs" + game designed so you keep doing the next piece of bite-sized content over and over.

I agree that it's more volatile than HK, in the sense that you're swinging between between "I've got this" and "I'm basically dead" much faster. I guess whether that's good or not depends from person to person. In my case, I like when I manage a heal at 1 hp and breathe a big sigh of relief

I don't really feel like that was true for me? In HK, the main issue with healing is finding a good opportunity. If your health is low it's very hard to get back up, healing is dangerous, and point by point. In silksong, healing is safe, once you have the silk, you're back into the fight immediately

Holy shit I am Really Bad at video games. There's no way I'll ever manage to 1cc this. The game is super lenient with retries thankfully

I remember playing the demo a while back. Immaculate vibes. Why are shmups and rhythm games so fucking awesome? I should play more of those games maybe

I feel like back then (~2010) there were two clear categories of games with a stark difference in terms of budget, aesthetics, and audience. Nowadays the lines are much blurrier on all of these axes. We probably need new, more descriptive vocabulary.

This literal corner case looks like a ton of work even for someone experienced like you

As someone relatively new to the series, what was the "cliffhanger"?

It is a very funny joke

minor spelling mistake etc

It feels like the audience for this game is entirely relying on their enormous amount for trust for Retro to keep their hype going, *despite* the efforts of the marketing team indermining that at every possible opportunity. First time I've seen somthing like that
