Tagging in here to say I shoot 98% of the time in aperture priority, which leaves ISO and shutter speed on auto. That leaves you with just the one variable to play with

Woohoo! As an XT-4 shooter, this is lovely to see. Let me know if you need any tips but it looks like Randall is setting you off in the right direction

Agreed. That line is katana sharp. That will rattle around in his brain for a long time. Ideally some introspection on it will help him do better, but his initial reaction doesn't give me much confidence
