What’s the most excited you’ve been to see a “common” #bird for the first time? For me, definitely the European Robin. Lost my mind. Laying down in the park in Edinburgh with my camera like a crazy person. What an icon.

I’m not the kind of birder who chases rare #birds but this one chased me. In 2021 I had a White-winged Dove spend nearly a week in my yard in Maine.

I've always been baffled by the popularity of Reaction Videos ("Classical Musician Hears Aquatarkus By Emerson Lake And Palmer For The First Time" etc). Whoever imagined there would be such a big audience for 4 minutes of highly performative facial contortions & gurning to a pop music soundtrack
