I learned to cook good food because I like to eat good food. I believe in salt and butter. My kitchen is a mess but that's only because I actually use it.

All recipes on my site have been tested in my own kitchen. I do not use AI. https://saltycook.com/
New Recipe Alert! Homemade Dill Dressing, perfect for salads or marinating chicken thighs or drummies. Yum!
Homemade Dill Dressing
This homemade dressing is great on salad, but also works well to marinate chicken thighs or drummies. Featuring a creamy texture, bright and vibrant citrus, and the savory notes of dill and chives, this dressing is a humdinger. Best of all, it takes just minutes to prepare; you'll spend more time gathering the ingredients than mixing the dressing, so it's super easy to whip up on a moment's notice.

Leftover soup for lunch. Holds up pretty well. Just as good on day 2 as it was on day 1. Added some crackers for funsies. My life is very exciting.

Welcome to Breakfast with ADD. Is it a banana? I put it down somewhere and it’s gone. Is it black coffee? I made a mug an hour ago and now it’s room-temp next to the coffee maker. Is it yogurt? Maybe, but this refrigerator needs to be organized, and I lost track of time and now
I’m late for work.

Tonight’s Dinner: Zuppa Toscana
Tonight for dinner, we made Zuppa Toscana, a soup featuring spicy Italian sausage, bacon, yellow potatoes, and kale. This soup is hot, spicy, and savory, and is perfect for cool winter nights. To begin, assemble your ingredients. Measure out the broth, chop your veggies, cut up your meat, gather your seasonings. If you want to be super organized about it, arrange them in order of use, so you can just grab ingredients in sequence as you cook.

Potatoes are now in the soup. Next up: kale, heavy cream, and the bacon / sausage mix. Then…we let it cook.

This week's menu features an entree soup, entree salad, and meatless pasta dish. Tonight - Super Bowl Sunday - we'll be out at a social event so there's no need to cook a structured meal. Monday will feature our soup of the week, our version of Zuppa Toscana. Tuesday is an entree Chef Salad with small baked potatoes, because the potatoes in our bag were smaller than usual.

First post: cheesecake.

Homemade graham cracker crust. Homemade filling, with just cream cheese, eggs, sugar, salt, and vanilla. Store-bought cherry pie filling on top because I was lazy.

It's delicious.
