Thankfully DOOM 2016 is such a well optimized game that you can probably play that sumbitch on a smart fridge's display, so even if you don't own a superpowered gamer rig I think you should still be able to play it pretty well.

MMMMMM see I remember having that issue with the console ports as well. DOOM 2016 felt smooth as butter to play on keyboard/mouse but I remember having that same sense playing on xbox. It was definitely designed with PC play in mind first and foremost, I think.

What about them's giving you grief? I absolutely agree that the newer DOOM games are starting to *decline* in quality with each new game but I still think DOOM 2016 is amazing and I'm just legitimately curious what makes you bounce off of them.

As someone who has known you since way before the red hair, the red hair is so perfect I can't imagine you without it now. You look so pretty.

And then there's something more like Ranger Veteran, whose whole thing is just killing special enemies to give the team more ammunition pouches, healing draughts, and bombs. He's never gonna wow you, but he's providing the group with an invisible sort of aid which will rarely go to waste.

Meanwhile, Unchained Sienna doesn't care where she is or what's going on or what enemies she's fighting. She's good at killing elites, specials, hordes and Monsters, and she's really fucking tanky to boot. She's never in a situation where she doesn't have a solution to her current problem.

Bounty Hunter is extremely good at killing Monsters. If he pops a concentration potion, he can kill most Monsters before they're able to even touch him. But that is also the only situation in which he's at all remarkably good. This doesn't make him bad, it just makes him VERY niche.

Careers aren't necessarily 'better' than eachother, but are increasingly more niche in their applications. Some careers will basically never be in a situation where they aren't useful, or the situation they're useful in is very reliable or occurs repeatedly, while others shine in rare circumstances.

I just imagine him zooming across a screen with blue afterimages trailing behind him before he delivers this shit. 6 frame invincible instant overhead.

What about unhinged trolling bot?

I also have to imagine that old GW alumni leaving the company and making successful competitors has a lot to do with it.
November 23, 2025 at 5:29 PM
Because GW is trying to be disney. They wanna be tabletop gaming disney so bad, wrt them trying to make the iconography and imagery of their IPs recognizable outside of their original context, and that includes removing it from the context of the original artists.

Plus imo it's way more balanced than Darktide is right now. Darktide's balance is a fucking MESS right now. Vermintide 2 is one of my favorite games of all time, and Darktide to this day still feels like an unworthy successor.

I've *been* saying this. I agree completely. People who started with Darktide and try to go back and play VT2 will probably get turned off by Vermintide 2's slower pace and lack of sprinting, but *my god* Vermintide 2 has such good atmosphere and character writing.
