Paying tax is a good thing. I only sneaked into the higher rate tax band for a brief period in my working life and it seemed like something to celebrate!

What should disturb many UKIP/Brexit/REF supporters is that Gill’s (public) pro-Russia speeches & acting were seen by them as *entirely consistent with UKIP/Brexit/REF anti-EU policies & so unremarkable. It should make them think again about Farage - & Brexit. Cui bono? Not them.

I’m very glad that this report seems to have exposed the awful Government response to the pandemic. Being in local government at the time, the central chaos was clear and very damaging

At the beginning of the war in Ukraine, at the first rally at the Brian Clough statue, I tried to reassure the community “this Government doesn’t welcome refugees but we do in Nottingham”. I hoped things would change for the better nationally with a Labour Government, how wrong could I be?

I’m with Stella Creasy (and I suspect most Labour members) on this, these measures are unnecessary, won’t work & are cruel (and they won’t make Reform voters decide to vote Labour!)

The idea that the installation of “so called rain gardens” is damaging people’s daily lives in Mansfield is bonkers, but the local Labour MP seems to agree!

Government wd hv to come out and say that the whole board has failed, get them all to resign and then push their own people onto a new board, who would then appoint a new DG. You would have to have balls of steel to put up with the attacks from RW media but I think it would be worth it long term.
