Founded in 1972, the mission of our museum is to tell the story of the innocent victims of witch hunts from 1692 to the present day.
Did you know Frederick Douglass wrote his famous "Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, An American Slave" in our neighboring community Lynn? At 20-years-old Douglass escaped from a plantation in Baltimore. He lived in Lynn from 1841 to 1848, where he wrote his famed autobiography.

Did you know the #newyear was recognized in March in the seventeenth-century? At this time, the Massachusetts settlers were still using the Julian calendar, rather than the Gregorian calendar which shifted the beginning of the year to January.
