The orks don't think ordinary human settlers are "fun" opponents anyway so they go off to fight tyranids, chaos, eldar and whatnot trying to invade the human worlds, and slowly build up marine gear and a reputation, eventually landing on Terra where the emperor gives them a thumbs up and goodbye

One of my favourite 1d4/tg stories is the Ork Marines story where a bunch of orks find a working space marine shuttle and fuck off into space in look of fights. Humans on backwater planets haven't seen space marines in lifetimes and think the orks are marines
