It's true that government processes move slowly, but it's also true that city government moves quickly to sort out development deals. We must act with that same urgency to provide relief to those in need.

Today, the Board of Aldermen fast tracked the legislative process to allocate over $13 million to provide shelter for both tornado survivors and our unhoused neighbors. Board Bills 93, 94, and 95 are set to pass next week—putting these funds in the hands of providers as soon as possible.

This morning, the Board of Aldermen introduced Board Bills 93, 94, and 95, which direct Rams settlement interest and budget surplus funds toward expanding winter shelters.

In the interest of time, we’re expediting these bills and aim to pass them next week.
