In Super Mario Sunshine, Shadow Mario's voice is created by applying a filter to Mario's voice; however, he does not use all of Mario's voice clips. By making Mario himself use the filter, we can finally hear Shadow Mario say things like "MAMA hoohahoo wow wow" and "The horror".

What's most scary is the people who don't even realize they hate brown folks. They convince themselves that the cruel things they do to me are neutral. They tend to avoid the topic of my race entirely. And yet it so clearly informs the things they do.
