Enjoyed a nice leisurely downwind sail up the east bay.

New dodger finally.

I met these guys at the Newport Boat Show a few years back. Super nice guys. If you don't follow them, you should. Colin is turning into a wonderful documentary filmmaker. Check out his latest on sailing to the South Pacific. #ParleyRevival

Nothing like a tasty sundowner on a gorgeous day here on the Narragansett. Limoncello today.

Gonna miss you man. A true rock/metal legend!

Feels good to have full 560A house power restored finally. And charged.

Battery number 2 rebuilt with the new BMS. This one was fully charged before I swapped the BMS unit. When the first one finishes charging, they going back in parallel for a 560A house bank. A full month trying to live off just one battery while working remotely. That was a challenge.

Battery number 1 upgraded to the new Daly BMS unit. Thankfully the cells are still ok and the new unit fired right up. I was worried the old BMS killed the cells when it failed. One down, one to go.

5 hours of rebuild. Replaced computer/inverter unit, flushed the fuel system, cleaned and rebuilt the carburetor, and cleaned the inside. Finally running again. Was in my lazarette for 2 years. I was expecting it to be a pile of rust. Was surprisingly rust free. Critical for working from the boat.

The new BMS units I am using on my LiFePO4 rebuild. These have the ability to connect to my Victron network. I’m guessing that’s why Daly went with the Victron blue instead of their usual red. Replacing my old Daly 200A/100A active balance units. One of them died. These are 200A/200A. 12/24V 4-8S

At the dinghy dock today. Way up in the bay. I thought these were blue water fish. I wonder if it got caught in a bilge or ballast of a huge boat and expelled. Seems like maybe it is injured. Sad and interesting at the same time.

Had a nice downwind sail up to Fall River MA. It’s not every day you get to sail past a battleship. Came back to dense fog in the mooring field, but caught a friends old English gaff rigged wooden sailboat in a special moment.

Another game changer for boat life is a bidet wand. Not the greatest topic to discuss, but head and holding tank functions are critical to life aboard ship. The wand not only improves your hygiene, but also keeps your holding tank easy to pump or drain. Plus saves you $$$ on RV/marine toilet paper.

Got a little deformed sliding it onto the pizza stone. If you use an LP oven, a pizza stone is critical to making good pizza. It keeps the oven at a steady temperature. Improves baking results dramatically in general. I need a wooden pizza peel, but they are usually designed for round pizza.

Making pizza onboard should be quick and easy. The KitchenAid mini mixer is perfect for boat life. I make homemade dough 2-3 times a month.

Since I don’t have davits yet, this is my second best option for keeping the growth off the bottom of the dinghy while on my mooring. The Sakonnet River (not a real river, just a narrows) is chock full of growth this time of year.

Some nice color last night. This is the view of my neighborhood from my my boat.

Added some needed ambiance to the cockpit. I’m digging it.

I’m sailing. I’m a sailor. lol. Good to have my home under sail again after 2 years.

First sail of season after putting my rig back on. 2 years without it.

Feels good to have the rig back on and tuned.

Something cool about being the lone occupant of a tall ship. I was on watch duty. Another cruise ship visiting Newport. When they are in town, it’s great for local businesses, but not fun for us locals.
