yea, of course. everyone deserves and, more importantly, should be working towards a better version of these things. that it's possible for something to be better alone warrants the setting aside of our cynicism.

service sector jobs make us more resilient too, esp in an economy increasingly reliant on skilled/educated individuals, robust service industry attracts talent & keeps them from wanting to leave. just a matter of playing to our present strengths. people want to live here, let's work with that.

fair enough, mostly used to people who tried it years ago when it was pretty mediocre and dismiss it out of hand. it's pretty serviceable today and mostly great for painting, but if you're informed and critical that's my bad. i've barked up the wrong tree uu_u.

krita's had vector layers for a while, and the community's put together some pretty killer brushes(some of em rival artrage/rebelle), genuinely the best general purpose illustration tool atm. not really sure why everyone's stuck on CSP.

very funny to class our earnestly competent girlfailure as a candidate with mamdani appeal

His schtick on cumtown mostly revolved around interrupting people/acting annoying and getting made fun of for doing it(helps that he is annoying). Acting out the part of the punching bag. As an interview style he's toned it down a little, still intentionally annoying, but well researched & sincere

the endless segregating of the sexes is so annoying. taxonomy is so annoying. i hate that any legitimacy is given to these narratives

Funding/classroom size/attention available for kids would probably be the biggest elephants I can think of. I think a lot of actionable findings are ignored because they're politically inconvenient, even if as investments they pay dividends.

not really sure abt this, though admittedly im in a semi rural west coast bubble, i don't think there's a single person around me who cares about or has any sort of emotional investment in the white house. it feels to me like a mountain for the pundit class, not to be dismissive, that type has power

good ep. reminds me of kojin karatani's marx at the center of possibility. karatani seems to follow the same track towards kant with his transcritique, though in a notably different direction

This places the onus too strongly onto individual consumers, especially when wealth inequality is so rampant, demand and what drives supply != aggregate individual consumer sentiment. It's how much money is being spent. It's competing corporate interest driving prices and wages down, that simple.

I think there's a difference between the humanities education people talk about and the, formative nazi german-language school in apartheid south africa. regardless it's a sort of is-ought fallacy. we can't draw conclusions about what we should do from his specific situation. education is still good

yea. everyone online wants to do witch hunts and no one even knows what it means to be graceful, or even why you'd want to forgive people.

Yea omegaverse is really mainstream in their web novels/romance fiction in general. Like a good quarter of the girls love novels over there are omegaverse it's really nuts. I think it's partially because it slides past a few censorship laws around sex? Marking isn't explicitly sex type beat.

ah yea I see your other thread, fair enough, haven't seen that particular take in the wild before but there's a kind of sense to it.

it's a weird corner people back themselves into sometimes while being strange and dogmatic about race. when good=nonwhite and bad=white then surely the irish can't be white. because, you know, they're good.

Yea if we're splitting hairs this thin then companies like Simplot/Wonderful wouldn't count as corporate. Feels like a point made prioritizing taxonomy rather than reality.
