that said I've seen one set of retroachievements that's funny, but it's not like it's something that'd make me play the game.

It's uh, for home improvement on the SNES:

a bunch of Brazilian PC gaming magazines from the 90s - some of them came with game discs, some of which were demo discs, some of which were actual full games and yes they were somehow licensed it was not a grey market thing
