Best to break down some of your traits & self reflect on what you do thats kinda animal-like. What do you gravitate towards? Could also ask friends what you remind them of. An outside perspective helps, or what your fav animal was as a kid. Best of luck on this and you can always change it later 😉

Hopefully this isn't too long winded but I wanted to give you a snapshot of how some of us view other species in the Fandom and there's SO MANY! Some I didn't cover are Otters, Bats, Goats, Apes or Simians, Dinosaurs, Pokémon Morphs, Cetaceans Like orcas/Dolphins, and so many more. It's a journey

Its a big new world they want to be part of and either they're the star of the movie, or a silly little guy who is an extra. Expect lots of lore from them. And if you want to get involved you will make friends instantly with like minded robots and Protogens. I know because I run a server of them ❤️

Many are Transhumanists, cyberpunk lovers, tech nerds, and lovers of scifi. They want to escape their flawed meat bodies and persue the stars and potential adventures beyond our world. I'd say they're more akin to philosophers, writers and thrill seekers. Also they love scifi books and movies

Lastly is the Future Species/Synthetics which are newer in the Fandom. They include Protogens, Synths, and any sort of machine that is sentient but not fully flesh and blood or at all. They're an uploaded consciousness in a robot shell, possibly mass produced or a unique strain.
