Feeling like they are living worse isn't the same as actually living worse. The difference matters a lot.

You're not supporting it well because you aren't presenting anything that contradicts that claim. The ongoing existence of problems doesn't prove that things are worse now.

Companies fucking their employees over can be a problem even if the median wealth and income have gone up. Things can both be better than they were and not as good as they should be.

People should demand better lives and solutions to their problems. They won't get that if they're holding onto falsehoods about economic history and fixate on emulating an era when people were poorer than today because nostalgia says things were better.

Saying that their struggles aren't uniquely worse compared to the rest of history isn't saying they don't exist.

Fixing problems involved accurately diagnosing them.
