A Santa Ana wind can flush out the PM almost entirely from the LA basin. And in the presence of strongly wind-driven sources, it can generate unprecedented PM. Of course, the bigger health concern is getting everyone at the urban-forest interfaces out. Hoping everyone stays safe😪

Relevant for like 3 ppl: upon inspecting Science Advances info for authors, there was very coincidentally an example citation for a paper I have recently spent a lot of time with, and ironically the example citation is wrong💀 Should be I. N. Tang (respect to atmospheric science legend Ignatius Tang)
