Great time yesterday in Richmond attending the ceremonial swearing in of my friend John McAuliff to the Virginia House of Delegates. So excited to see the work he does for Virginia and my community!

The law is the great equalizer. No one is above its reach, no one is below its protection. This includes ICE officers. Thankfully some elected prosecutors are working on this. Unsurprisingly Loudoun’s CA is not one of them.

Loved being at the Governor’s inauguration! But as excited as I am for our new Governor, the real joy was seeing my friends and neighbors. From Loudoun and Fauquier Democrats, to the legislators I’ve gotten to know, to Loudoun’s own ADAMS youth choir. The people were more affecting than any speech.

It’s a party in Richmond as Democrats celebrate our sweep last November! Of course the best part of these things is running into friends!

Lobbying today with Justice Forward VA for a fairer criminal justice system. I was so grateful for the incredible legislators who met with me, and even more grateful for all the volunteers who drove down to Richmond today to speak up for people who have no one else to speak for them!

An important meeting of the Loudoun Bar Association today! We voted on which candidates for Judge we wanted to support. After a decade as part of the Loudoun legal community there’s rarely a candidate for Judge I don’t know well, and let me tell you, here in Loudoun we have some incredible options!

I spent some time at the pre-legislative session event for Sen. Perry and Del. Elect McAuliff. For the first time in over 30 years Western Loudoun, my home, has two incredible legislators. I couldn’t be more excited for the work they’ll do for all of us!

It was a beautiful and touching memorial yesterday for Renee Good, who was killed by an ICE agent. This is the inevitable result of lowering hiring standards, reducing training, and promoting a view that immigrants and people trying to help them are enemies trying to destroy our country.

As the Chair of the Loudoun Democratic Party I was able to appoint a new member to the Loudoun Electoral Board with the express requirement that they promote Sunday early voting happening. It was our priority and we did it!

Outrageously the Purcellville Town Council majority still refuses to make our interim police chief permanent after their plan to appoint one of their own members failed and their back up plan to completely defund our police department failed as well.
