Sad to hear about the passing of Steve “The Colonel” Cropper. What a legacy to leave behind — a member of The Blues Brothers, Booker T. & the M.G.’s, and the co-writer of “(Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay.”
Steve Cropper, the soulful guitarist and songwriter who helped anchor the celebrated Memphis backing band Booker T. and the M.G.’s at Stax Records and co-wrote the classics “Green Onions,” “(Sittin’ on) the Dock of the Bay” and “In the Midnight Hour,” has died. He was 84. https://to.pbs.org/48fgEoM

And I’m thankful for the activities outside of work that keep me grounded and centered.

In particular, I’m grateful for the community my wife and I have built through our YouTube channel, Fun Times With Ryan and Sarah. Being part of that space means so much to me. 🎥💛

I’m thankful for my career — for the chance to earn a living doing work that serves others and aligns with my ethics and values. It’s truly a privilege. 💼✨

I’m thankful for my friends, who have become family in their own right. I’m grateful for every relationship that adds meaning, fun, and support to my life. 🤝

Dudeist philosophy will always influence my outlook and approach, but becoming a Humanist Celebrant will let me serve people with the level of professionalism, integrity, and respect the role deserves.
November 25, 2025 at 3:26 AM
Unlike quick online ordinations, becoming a Humanist Celebrant involves an application, an interview with the board, and a formal approval process — which is exactly what I’m looking for.
November 25, 2025 at 3:26 AM
So I’ve decided to join the American Humanist Association and apply to become a certified Humanist Celebrant. This designation carries full legal authority to officiate weddings, but it also comes with the support and credibility of a nationally recognized organization.
November 25, 2025 at 3:25 AM
As fun as it is to say I’m a Dudeist priest, it’s ultimately a novelty title, and it doesn’t convey the seriousness or respect I want to bring to this work. Humor has its place, but this is something I genuinely want to take seriously
November 25, 2025 at 3:25 AM
A while back, I mentioned wanting to use my Dudeist ordination to be of service — officiating weddings and supporting people in meaningful moments. I still want to do that, but I’ve realized I want to pursue it in a more professional and intentional way.

Elon Musk says AI and robotics will make most labor obsolete—work optional, money irrelevant. Sounds amazing… and also kind of socialist for a guy who was just cozy with Trump not that long ago.

If you needed another reason to hate AI: tech companies are apparently now pushing to revive nuclear power just to feed the energy-hungry data centers AI depends on. Great. As if their massive electricity and water use wasn’t enough, now nuclear power wants to join the party
