Once again, Philips has the best LED bulb for recessed cans (and track fixtures). It's PAR30 and has warm dim, although the warm dim effect is more subtle than I would like.

This example is such a perfect encapsulation of everything wrong with transit in much of the U.S., and especially with Chicago's governance structure.
There's no incentive for anyone in power to fix this. It's hard to interpret the result as anything but open hostility toward passengers.
