Pete Rock & CL Smooth - They Reminisce Over You (TROY)
youtu.be/k6mdRv0ZdR8?...

My pal said if I sounded like a record it would be this. A soulful hip-hop joint with sentimental lyrics of gratitude about the ones that mean the most to us. And producer Pete Rock is true master TROY

Pepe Bradock - Deep Burnt
youtu.be/QTvFzBS6e68?...

When this got played in the club, or back at the house party, you felt the world would stop. One of the most beautiful deep house (proper d h) records ever made. Reminds me a lot of Gilles Peterson, as he still plays it. Classic

Norma Jean Bell - I'm the Baddest Bitch (Moodymann Mix)
youtu.be/SV9KLYeeQ48?...

Another late 90s crossover dance floor classic that was massive in the sweaty house and techno clubs and the suave soul clubs. This mix is by the Miles Davis of house, Moodymann from Detroit. Genius

Just another Jewish suburban kid who didn't know how much he needed reggae until Jimmy Cliff and the Harder soundtrack showed up and smacked some stupid from him.

Very sad to see this man pass. Very grateful for his full life, clear voice and true artistry.

Great band who, along with The Charlatans, are the bands I seen live most in the 90s. This is the debut album closer and one of the best tracks to see live as it seems to go on forever. Cast always sound like they are having fun 😎

A product of working-class Manchester and its second-generation Irish culture, Stone Roses bassist Mani — who has died aged 63 — was the ultimate team player, and an embodiment of socialist values in his life and art.

It's all about Mani today. It's like losing one of your gang. Primals best era was 97-2002 and Mani was one of the main reasons for that. He brought them back that street swagger.. thanks for the memories, rkid 💚

Such sad news to hear about Mani. The Stone Roses were a massive band for me in 89/90. That booming bass at the start of I Wanna Be Adored was (and still remains) a truly goosebumps moment. But it wasn’t just The Roses, Primal Scream produced their best work with him in the fold. A very sad day.
