I like wildlife, and wildlife gardening in particular. I want to know what comes to my garden during the day and at night (moths, V61). Amateur photographer. South-East Yorkshire, UK.
I probably will. It's going to be 13-9 °C which seems okay, to me. I'm more desperate than optimistic.

There has undoubtedly been a significant learning curve in both identifying and taking pictures of them. Fortunately, I've won most of the battles, which I put down to my pigheadedness. 😅

Thanks. Spring can't come soon enough!

I wish you could send one to me as well. Wogans seem to be all I get these days. Until the end of February, when I start to get moths again, I believe that my trapping has come to an end. Though, I might give it another go tonight since the temperature looks okay and it won't be raining for once.

If I've pronounced some of the words correctly, then Latin sounds really weird in my head! 😅

I've learnt that if there are a lot of shots, I shouldn't keep delaying sorting them until the end of the year. My problem for next year is that I won't have as many NFG photos, so I'll be tempted to put off organising them once more. I know myself too well. 🙄🤣

I saw my first this year also.

I'm currently organising all of my new micro shots into folders, so it won't take much more work to create a collage of every nine sorted images. 😅 They might be useful next year when mothing.

I've been a little dissatisfied with collage apps, but I believe I've finally found one that I like.

😆 The next time she gripes about my handwriting, I'll explain that it's a sign of extraordinary intelligence.

🤣 That's what the wife says about my handwriting.

And I was thinking mine was a complete mess. 🤣

😅 Yes, getting a bigger diary has crossed my mind.
November 24, 2025 at 2:15 PM
Thanks. It's the first year that I've taken any notice of micros, so I've had an interesting learning curve.

I've been getting a few, yes. 😅 But I doubt I get nearly as much as you two do. Since this is the first year I've really looked out for them, it probably seems like I get a lot.
November 24, 2025 at 12:42 PM
Exactly! 😄

😆 All you have to do is catch them when they're still cold and fresh out of the refrigerator, then quickly remove the pot's lid and tip them out (which, I suppose, has the same effect as ripping off a plaster). At that point, they're not prepared for the outside world, so they keel over.
