When stupidity is considered patriotism, it is unsafe to be intelligent.
Idiot politicians. Whilst they’re running round the TV studios celebrating and claiming credit, our grandparents are suffering.

Only a fool or a politician would think this was good.

Great to know, I haven’t started buying Christmas gifts yet and you’re local so even better.

My GP practice are incredible, all the GPs at the practice work part-time but actually work longer hours than most full-time people.

It’s not unusual for me to receive a call from a GP at 9pm at night. Thanks to their dedication, I am in a far better position than I might otherwise be.

I wonder if it would benefit Labour MPs to start being a bit rebellious and outspoken? It doesn’t seem to do Clive Lewis much harm.

I agree, I don’t think there are many UK politicians that could have made more of a success of the budget - that would require a high degree of risk and a lot of courage.

Our electoral system forces our politicians to act tactically because there’s an election every 5 years.

This is shocking, SEND money will just be swallowed by the education budget.

Why no windfall taxes on banks? Is it because many bond traders work for those banks and wouldn’t like it?

Just wondering.

Relaunching disastrous PFI in order to fund health hubs is catastrophic. One of the reasons the NHS is on it’s knees is because corporations are stripping it of money in return for very poor services. I also agree that Reeves et al should have been courageous with tax.

Otherwise, an ok budget.

Where contracts were provided in areas like facilities management and cleaning, the NHS hospitals were being charged £350 to change a light bulb.

Alas, we should be joyful because it meant well paid employment for govt ministers when they’d left politics. Britain is so corrupt.
November 26, 2025 at 5:28 PM
This is horrendous, is this govt unaware what happened with PFI last time. 69 NHS hospitals are still on the hook to corporations to the tune of £21bn over the coming years. As this minister said, PFI is not just restricted to providing the capital, they also win contracts on top.

This commentary, in future, could be averted by the govt not briefing the media. Rachel Reeves started talking about the budget in July.

Our media needs to be reformed, however, this time it’s not their fault. Anyway, who could reform our broken media? Oh yes, it’s the govt but they won’t.

There are parts of the budget deserving of criticism, however, this is not an area. It is not wrong to pay people enough to live on.

We’ll probably learn eventually that Robbie Gibb was on the appointment panel!

Exactly this, it’s astounding. Andrew Dilnot produced his report in 2011, the work is done.

When Starmer/Streeting get round to it, it will involve private finance no doubt and cost a fortune just like the NHS.

I really wish it would, however, the establishment in Britain always protect their own.

They only offered up Michelle Mone because, although she looked like them, she wasn’t one of them. Gove was heavily involved in the VIP lane giveaway yet no consequences.
