You can still turn the buttons on in the settings. But when I say the back button I include the back gesture. In fact, the back gesture is 10x worse because it makes it impossible to use a slide out hamburger menu and it's super easy to trigger when you're cropping photos.

Yeah but that doesn't count because you can't give EA backdoor ring0 access to your computer to spy on everything you do and potentially brick your system if they introduce a bug. Clearly Linux is bad.

To be clear: I mean this in the sense that a lot of distros have stupid default settings, not that Linux is at all complicated to use. Most things are really trivial settings users can change, but most users don't go into the settings ever.
