The NZ Govt is trying to change the reward structure away from good farming and back to supporting stupid farming: max cows, max fertiliser; max pollution (water and climate); max production regardless of the true cost. Minimum nature.

This is the positive ecosystem of change that current NZ Govt is trying to dismantle. The attempt to silence the enviro NGOs, remove the national direction under the RMA, stop regional councils imposing nitrogen limits. There will still be good farmers going against the grain, but it will be harder
