Bitcoin miners are both the security apparatus for the global open Bitcoin network and are rewarded for that work (PoW) with newly minted tokens that can then be distributed to the wider market.

Other tokens are mainly 99% scams in some form or another. www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6rV...

Large Texas mines are like a normal warehouse but averagely they tend to be useful in shipping containers

As for the rest it definitely sounds like you are describing gold mining.

Thankfully many mines being location agnostic can be sited to run off CH4 an 80x more potent GHG than CO2. Landfill!

sucking down Gigawatts of wasted and stranded power.

Paying for the overbuild of RE because shock horror you need to over specify because... variability. This is normal and occurs anywhere you have RE. Bitcoin mining just provides a buyer who is location agnostic.

Anywhere with excess energy.

By finding stranded and wasted energy.

You look for curtailment & grid network issues that occur all over the globe.
December 7, 2025 at 2:41 PM
Yep the Texas Ercot grid has been freed up to 'overbuild' RE capacity directly because of allowing Bitcoin miners in as good energy partners. The world should take note!

My solar powered bitcoin miners will be feeding my ASHP with lovely warm air easing any strain on the system and of course paying me! Beautiful.

Money 'itself' is the thing that is broken. Everything else is upstream.

100% at Bitcoin Policy UK we want clear regulation separating 'crypto' the 99.9% scam from 'Bitcoin' the financial innovation.

Nope not on Bitcoin. We fought the blocksize wars over this very issue in 2016. The corps lost. My node my rules. You can own 20million bitcoin and still not be able to change the network anymore than I can.

Onchain?... this is 2025 mate, we are not savages!

We are entering into a world where we want to charge for electricity on micro second to micro second time frame.

Even this is too slow for computers and Ai. Bitcoin Lightning and newer layers built on Lightning and the base layer are built for this future.

I'm sharing the story of a farmer, because too many Bitcoin discussions stay theoretical. Critics dismiss it as speculation; maximalists oversell it as a panacea.

Yep. Let us not forget the bleeding edge is also the Lightning network threaded into NOSTR.

Star of development might have to go to CASHU that prefers LN. So literally bringing David Chaum's 1982 vision for ecash to life finally! So important. Calle is a Trojan on this layers development.
October 19, 2025 at 9:24 AM
Maybe you'd like to join Bitcoin Policies CEO Susie Violet Ward on Roxom TV for a chat about Lightning and the bleeding edge developments? We could get Ben Arc or Ben de Waal (both in the UK) as they are at the coal (pun intended) face of Lightning transactional use?

Yes it was a crime! Pure fraud.

I love this video by @joenakamoto.bsky.social where he gets Giacomo to detail the three levels of crypto scam youtu.be/i6rV5HlbPTM?... Onecoin is a third degree scam.

TGV/bullet train = stablecoin

Good analogy, so can be stopped and subject to the whim of who runs the network!

Bitcoin mainchain = Oxford Electric Bell or an atomic clock (unstoppable)

Bitcoin Lightning/layers = speed of light (why you so slow bullet train?). Made for the future not the past.

Adam Back the utter legend and as I understand it @freddienew.bsky.social one of the largest investors and advisor to Bhodl which is a 'Lightning node' company.. So literally Adam is super interested in supporting day to day use.

Of course it is relevant.

Like each and every Bitcoiner I know I've done minimal on-chain transactions (maybe one in 2024, zero this year) but thousands of Lightning network transactions. No Bitcoiner would buy a coffee on-chain always Lightning. Maybe some Cashu.
October 19, 2025 at 7:33 AM
P.s @katebaucherel.bsky.social were you on @moneybox.bsky.social and didn't know about the Lightning network? Very excited you've found out about it at last.

Shall we dig in to some papers on Bitcoin's energy mix?
