The bleakness of the future for many of the colony worlds (as well as Filip’s end story) is drawn out in the novella ‘The Sins of our Fathers’ from Memories Legion.

I find the epilogue to be the salve you need after the last chapter. Without it the books end on very bleak and exhausted note. Wonderful, but drainingly perfect. It gives a glimmer of hope and humour.

Watch what they do, not what they say. The double speak is huge. We are witnessing a fast moving deconstruction of the work of multiple governments.

It’s media baiting, i assume its a private members bill - we’d be best to ignore them if we cant simply mock them. Outrage is just fueling them. thespinoff.co.nz/politics/06-...
The brilliant performative politics of NZ First’s fake members’ bills
NZ First MPs keep proposing laws they have no intention of passing, and the media falls for it every time.

Hmmm, still a bit annoyed that we did not preserve Ronald Hugh Morrison’s house in Hawera (where he lived most of his life) all those years ago. May be an apocryphal story but heard it got bowled to build a KFC.

Denial and deflection is a dead end tactic, it’s certainly not a sound strategy. TPM really need to stop digging the hole they are in but it doesn’t look like they are capable of stopping now. There is a certain inevitability to this. Sad.

Charley Noble seems far more than a steakhouse. It’s been great modern food and superb service every time I go there. Long may it last.

That the very concept of a hostile takeover even exists now is a stain on that legislation. We will see more of this in future.

Yes, to a degree I expect Tory was using it as a practice campaign run and awareness raising exercise for next year. Good on her, was a great effort but was never likely to win that particular contest.
