I remember going to see Placebo in 1997. I think I was probably a plastic fan though, don’t remember their songs even though I had the album from the time. I was going to lots of gigs at the time, Charlatans, Manics etc. I love music but often just like songs rather than groups/artists!

He really is a weasly little man. Who is he to say that ADHD and mental ill health is overdiagnosed without medical qualifications. He’s playing to the gallery of the wealthy and uneducated. Typical Tory!

Sounds like an accurate description to me!

Feels like we are back with Theresa May and the hostile environment… or worse!

Thanks for explaining that to me 🙄

Does feel a bit like doublespeak though!

I feel this!

To me this sounds, other than the obvious dogwhistle, a way to prepare for an unjustified massive cut in benefit spending! Punish the poor and sick as usual!!

found your accusation unsettling, and your failure to respond in anyway to my explanation when you accused me of trying to lie and pick a fight is somewhat rude. I’ll leave it there thank you.

As an autistic person, I was really bothered by this post, accusing me of mischaracterising your post and trying to argue. I replied to explain that I felt you had misinterpreted my post and why, but no response back. Maybe I’m muted? But I also suffer from massive anxiety, and ……

as implied in the original article suggests going backwards to those days and making it more difficult again for those who would previously been described as higher functioning.
October 2, 2025 at 7:00 AM
Historically, where the Autistic Spectrum has labelled people as “high functioning” or “Asperger’s” this has resulted in people being denied support, including myself, and I feel support and funding should be provided based on an individuals needs, but suggesting the spectrum should be split apart…

However, as an autistic person who has a very low opinion of Elon Musk, I accept I was triggered by feeling compared to him when I wrote my second reply and also apologise to you for that.
October 2, 2025 at 6:43 AM
Sorry, but I’m not trying to argue, and I agree with what you say above in that you never said that “higher functioning” people should receive no support. I do feel however that this is the implication of trying to divide up the spectrum, but I fully accept you didn’t say that.
October 2, 2025 at 6:33 AM
But further to that, people like me who were diagnosed as autistic in middle age, aren’t all like Elon Musk!!

Should read “less support than they have now”.
October 1, 2025 at 9:03 PM
Sorry, badly written, autistic people who are non verbal and cannot participate in society should get the funding and support they need, but just because others are verbal and participate in society , it doesn’t mean they don’t need support, or should get less than they do now.
October 1, 2025 at 8:57 PM
When you’ve become used to being told you’re “high functioning” and don’t need support, it can be quite hurtful and frustrating!
October 1, 2025 at 7:03 PM
Sorry, my bad in worrying, I meant less support than they already have.
October 1, 2025 at 6:58 PM
Can’t read this due to paywall, and I’m not paying. But if this is a way of saying that some people on the spectrum are more “high functioning” and should have less support then please get to f**k!!

Thank you, I am gradually making progress at sorting my life out, it helps to understand who you are I think, so you can have more realistic expectations.
