For over 100 years, the Ruislip Residents’ Association has sought to protect and represent the interests of local residents.
An FOI response reveals no formal survey exists to support claims that most Lido visitors are local. Residents question the Council's data generally and the impact on the Lido's residents specifically.

In July 2025, Hillingdon Council's then-Cabinet Member for Community & Environment, Cllr. Eddie Lavery, cited "survey data" as a key reason for not implementing an entrance fee at Ruislip Lido.  However, a subsequent Freedom of Information (FOI) response, email correspondence and a rejected follow-up question have cast significant doubt on the existence - and the accuracy - of that data.

Residents were rightly alarmed last week after news spread of a public notice in the Uxbridge Gazette announcing the closure of Breakspear Road South for four months, starting at the end of March. Given the obvious chaos this would cause, we immediately sought clarification.  We can confirm that the notice was published in error! “The Map...  makes no sense” Following our challenge to the published plans, Rick Connors (LBH Project Manager) confirmed to us by email that the official paperwork was fundamentally flawed.

Council Finally Publishes RAGC Report: It recommends a partial Asset of Community Value Listing - not for the full site used previously by the RAGC. This is only a partial win for the Friends of the RAGC, and we await news of both the final decision, and their next move.

After months of silence, missed statutory deadlines, and the looming threat of a High Court Judicial Review, Hillingdon Council has finally published a formal report today regarding the Rural Activities Garden Centre (RAGC). The report, authored by the Assistant Director of Property, recommends that the Cabinet Member for Corporate Services & Property, Cllr Jonathan Bianco, approve the nomination to list the main RAGC site as an Asset of Community Value (ACV).

After ten years of delays and repeated assurances that proposals were “imminent”, a planning application has now been published for the former Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) site and the adjoining St Martin’s Approach car park. The scheme effectively swaps the use of the two areas. A terrace of six new family houses is proposed on part of the existing St Martin’s Approach public car park, continuing the established building line of the road.
