I don’t get how this isn’t more kabuki theater. Bobert knows a bill probably won’t pass the house or the senate and won’t get signed by Trump. So it’s keeps her district off her back and that’s about it.

I think we need to be more concerned about what will be under the ballroom. The footprint is large enough to build the mother of all bunkers. Something Trump thinks he will need when the people have had enough.

…and bearing in mind that 20% or more of the homeless population are children under 18.

I don’t believe there’s any coming back from this. Structural changes needed to keep the American experiment going will either be made or they won’t. Either way this country will be something very different going forward.

Here’s an elusive link to FIFA where you can let them know how intensely you dislike their silence on US threatening World Cup fans thinking about coming to US for the games (and maybe think about a boycott) #Worldcup #FIFA

I’m an an American visiting Banff this week. I’ve been respectful to the Canadians I meet and every last one of them I’ve met has been likewise despite the US threats. Why is it so hard for some Americans to just act like normal human beings? Thank you Canada.

Not if you’re deploying them to terrorize your own citizens.

Nobody seems to be asking what the plans are to return these assets to Texas. I don’t think they are going back.

Bad feeling. This is trump moving pieces into position for permanent deployment in dc, and in blue cities in northeast. They aren’t going back to Texas.

We are special in the sense that humans are among the most complex objects in the universe as know it. Space.. mostly empty. Stars.. a simple reaction of hydrogen, helium and gravity. Earth is a gem of complexity in the vast empty. Why we are not in reverence of all life on this planet is beyond me

Yes. Nationalize SpaceX. Even though I have no hope that the current crop of miscreants running the country will run it in the country’s best interest. I’m sure they are on the phone to Moscow to see what Vlad wants them to do.

It’s the idea and ideal of an American democracy that I am willing to fight for. We must be honest about who we are as a people. Even the most superficial reading of our history shows how deeply flawed the execution of this ideal has been from its inception.
