Begging for someone to steal the "ends" sign
January 24, 2026 at 7:29 PM
I honestly did not realize this until you said it. I thought it was a reference to kneeling at his feet? I guess now I'm not sure

San Francisco has a lot of stops just 500 feet apart
January 17, 2026 at 5:18 PM
Local businesses seeing development as a good thing? Couldn't be SF
January 14, 2026 at 11:05 PM
This is some crackpot thinking. There is no mechanism by which strictly increasing the number of units on the market would result in higher rents.

Who are you, an economics professor? Who are you to say that all of human research into housing economics is wrong?
January 13, 2026 at 5:16 PM
This is not true, you are either ignorant or don't read the research. I advise you correct yourself and stop adding to the misinformation. I would like to have more affordable options for apartment living in this state and people like you are in my way.

They're wealthier than I am, anyone who owns their home in California is wealthy to me
January 13, 2026 at 4:48 PM
respecting the wealthiest homeowners' benefit, yeah maybe

The tracks in Utah parallel to Interstate 80 seem to be perfectly straight for over 42 miles as well
January 11, 2026 at 11:45 PM
upzoning could have given the homeowners more land value while also resulting in more supply for renters in the long run. But california politicians are cowardly.

Fatalities? Which Waymo fatalities?

I rode the subway a lot in LA, and a lot of people in LA read stuff even if they don't ride the subway, this is anti-LA rage bait for no clear reason

I think there's an option that achieves taxing the richest much more effectively than just by taxing the highest income brackets, and it's called Land Value Tax
December 30, 2025 at 9:37 PM
The tax basis reset on inheritance is a clear loophole. But I do suspect it would become irrelevant under full LVT thanks to ATCOR
December 30, 2025 at 5:49 AM
There is a distinction between earned wealth and unearned wealth, which I understand you deny, but I regard it as extremely important for policy
December 30, 2025 at 5:40 AM
Don't get me wrong, I think unearned power concentration is bad and we should do something about it.
December 29, 2025 at 4:14 PM
Well then it's specifically the hoarding of power that is bad, isn't it? Or can you point to a way wealth inequality is directly bad that doesn't involve power?
December 29, 2025 at 5:55 AM
then I think your point is silly. It's not the wealth concentration that's the problem, that is a symptom of problems.
December 29, 2025 at 2:00 AM
At some point, it is crab mentality, so it's important to be careful about what we mean exactly. It matters whether the wealth was earned or not, how much of it was, by what mechanism, etc.
December 28, 2025 at 8:50 PM
Where I differ from leftists is that wealth itself doesn't offend me. I'd prefer the rich build mansions on cheap land than to sit on cash. I want a funded govt and fewer barriers to development. Reducing wealth isn't my goal, but yes we should target specific rich people who interfere in democracy
