Absolutely. And division and perpetual exhaustion that we all feel from what is essentially just surviving means that it’s so difficult to make the effort to be sociable even when there ARE spaces and situations available!

I imagine there’s a curve from ‘this is great, I’ve found what makes me happy’, to ‘this further underpins that I can’t find something real & nothing real can live up to this’ added on to the shame.
I think that sort of emotional rollercoaster can be the tipping point for a lot of people.
