Nah you just haven't updated to dispensaries. Y'all still got dealers n shit. Just stop being afraid of the rampant crime and you get some good deals on stuff. I remember one of my old dealers was a fellow furry. They always tested shit regardless of origin for safety after transport too.

Personally I headcanon him as being completely unaware of the trans debate and just continues to go by Mojo regardless of the person because the Mojo must flow. Gender conformity is for a society that follows those rules, and since he's a proponent of Free Love, he's an LGBT ally at the very least

See, folks who actually ENJOYED the movies know that it's funny because Austin is out of touch, struggling to readjust to all the new societal understandings and rules. The comedy comes from the fact that Austin is reacting in a very socially awkward way, some would even say 'unacceptable' behaviour
