Interesting look at Western Carolina's production when reaching the redzone the two years in which Kade Bell was the play caller.

The Jerry McCullough (I think?) jersey is now 1-0 (1-0 ATS)

Pitt has controlled games with the best of them

I'm starting to think big with this Pitt team. It may not end in a playoff appearance, but I think 9-10 wins with a Gator Bowl/Holiday Bowl victory is very much on the table. That, by all accounts, would be a resounding success.

Pitt now averages the most Yards per Successful play (read: explosiveness) on offense in the country and is in some pretty good company in terms of both success rate and limiting explosiveness on defense.

In FBS vs. FBS competition, Pitt has spent the 6th most time in the lead. Relatedly, they are 16th and 7th in ESPN's Game Control and Average Win Prob. metrics, respectively.

Nothing beats wanting to apply to a job, but not being able to figure out what the company does or how they provide value to society.

This is just the difference in Syracuse's offense within the Clemson game.

There's a level of competition effect at play here, but everyone just take a guess when Steve Angeli got hurt. (these are all per play averages with plays of < 1% win probability filtered out)

Efficiency vs Explosiveness graph for Cuse week.

Pitt reaching the upper echelon in explosiveness. On defense the Panthers are shutting down offenses down to down and *generally* limiting the damage from explosiveness (imo due to improved tackling especially from the DBs)

Only three teams in the country have 4 players averaging 15 yds/reception on at least 10 receptions.

Big Game Hunting. Big Bills Only. Whatever you want to call it, Pitt can generate chunk plays through the air

Two penalties and two big pass plays (one of which was the fumble) are keeping this from being of of the most dominant halves in recent Pitt memory

Been a while since I made some Pitt football graphs, but with several games worth of data and ACC play starting it's as good a time as ever to fire up R again. Here's a little preview for this weekend. Both graphs are oriented so Top Right = Good.

ESPN used to give the betting lines here which was extremely helpful in providing closing lines and O/Us to quickly judge how a game ended against consensus expectation. I guess ESPN must assume their users already knew those facts?
