Oct 10th - Horror that did not seem so bad

I Call Upon Thee by Ania Ahlborn 💙📚 #booksky

I had read Ania Ahlborn's Brother and was properly scared, so I immediately read I Call Upon Thee. It just was not at the same level, nor do I think it was meant to be.

Oct 9th – Story that was scarier than you thought it would be

Parabo by Keely Bibeau 💙📚

The story starts before the book, so I felt completely off-balance from the get go, then it got truly weird and extra creepy.

In the Dream House 💙📚
by Carmen Maria Machado

Beautifully written with lush language describing ys of abuse.

“Abusers do not need to be, and rarely are, cackling maniacs. They just need to want something and not care how they get it.”
